GCC Secretary-General Urges International Community to Take Firm Stance Stopping Israeli Violations Against Palestinians

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi urged the international community to take a firm stance toward the Israeli occupation to stop its ongoing and systematic violations against the Palestinian people.

In a statement on Thursday, Albudaiwi emphasized that the targeting of relief and UN staff by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) is a “new” crime added to the many repeated war crimes committed by the occupation forces in the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of innocents. He voiced his condemnation and denunciation of the IOF’s bombing of a school belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Nuseirat camp, leading to the death of dozens of innocents, including six UNRWA employees, and injuring many others.

The GCC Secretary-General urged the international community to take the necessary actions, within international law, to respond to the illegal practices of the Israeli government and the
policy of collective punishment it pursues against the besieged residents of Gaza and the entire Palestinian people.

Earlier, the UNRWA announced the killing of six of its employees as a result of two Israeli occupation airstrikes that targeted a school housing displaced persons and the surrounding area in Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
