Germany, Jordan Discuss Palestine, Regional Developments

Foreign Minister of Germany Annalena Baerbock and her Jordanian counterpart Ayman Al Safadi discussed regional and international developments, particularly the developments of the Palestinian cause and means to enhance international efforts to push forward the peace process.

Following official talks Monday in Berlin, the two sides affirmed that they would work together intensively to prevent further deterioration of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, pointing to the intention of the two countries to undertake new mediation efforts in order to advance the peace process in the Middle East.

The two ministers discussed ways to enhance strategic relations between the two countries, especially in the economic, investment, tourism, defense and education fields, in addition to water and renewable energy sectors.

The Jordanian foreign minister affirmed that Germany is a key partner for his country in efforts to achieve security and stability and overcome regional challenges.

For her part, the German Foreign Minister stressed the depth of relations between the two countries, affirming continued work to develop bilateral relations in various fields.
