Sonatrach’s CEO in Peru to discuss investment, partnership

ALGIERS, The Chief Executive Officer of Algeria’s State-owned hydrocarbons corporation, Sonatrach, Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour, has started a working visit to Lima to discuss partnerships and investmentin in Peru with with top officials of the South American nation’s energy sector.

A Sonatrach statement here Tuesday said Ould Kaddour, who arrived in Lima Monday, was scheduled to meet Peruvian Energy Minister Francisco Ismodes Mezzano, and the Deputy Minister in charge of hydrocarbons, Eduardo Alfredo Guevara Dodds.

The Sonatrach chief executive will also hold talks with the officials of the Peruvian oil regulations administration as well as with James Atkins Lerggios, the Chairperson of PetroPeru, the Peruvian national oil company.

Ould Kaddour will also discuss gas projects developed by Sonatrach in the South American country and will hold talks with shareholders of TgP, a Peruvian company owned by a consortium of multinational companies comprising Enagas, Sonatrach and the Canadian Pension Fund, CPPIB.

On the sidelines of the visit, he will hold a working session with officials of the Sonatrach Peru headquarters where he will review the oil-gas project Camisea, in which the Algerian group is an associate, and also the transport gas project TgP and development prospects on these two major projects.

After his visit to Peru, Ould Kaddour will head for Bolivia to attend on Thursday and Friday the first international forum on gas, petrochemistry and green fuels taking place in that country.
