Rabat – HM King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, on the occasion of his country’s national day.
In this message, the Sovereign expresses His warm congratulations to President Wickremesinghe and His sincere wishes for further progress and prosperity to the people of Sri Lanka.
On this occasion, HM the King welcomed the strong ties of friendship and mutual esteem between the two countries, reaffirming His continued determination to continue to work alongside with the Sri Lankan President to consolidate bilateral relations and promote this close cooperation to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.

Footage filmed in the Chilean coastal resort city of Vina del Mar on Sunday shows the wildfire raging in the residential area with houses burning as firefighters and locals work to prevent the spread of the disaster.
Local media are reporting up to 59 people have now died with nearly 400 still missing, while over 14,000 homes have been left without water and 1,000 homes have been destroyed.
However, authorities suspect that one of the fires was started deliberately and a criminal investigation was started on the matter.
