HM the King Offers Condolences to Martine Aubry on Death of her Father Jacques Delors, Former European Commission President

His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolences and compassion to Martine Aubry, Mayor of Lille, following the death of her father Jacques Delors, former President of the European Commission.

In the message, the Sovereign said he had learned with great emotion of the sad news of the death of the late Jaques Delors.

“Sharing your sorrow in this ordeal, I send you, and all the family and friends of the deceased, My sincere condolences and the expression of My deepest sympathy,” emphasizes His Majesty the King.

“You know the deep esteem and respect I had for him. On this sad occasion, I remember Our meetings and, in particular, the goodwill he showed during the traineeship that I attended at the European Commission,” the Sovereign said.

On this sad occasion, HM the King paid tribute to the memory of this “great statesman, a key player in the European Construction who, throughout his remarkable political career, was committed to greater social justice,” affirming that Morocco has lost a “great fri
end who contributed actively to the consolidation of Euro-Mediterranean relations.”
