Hong Kong Secretary for Financial Services and Treasury Praises Financial Sector Initiatives of QFMA

HE Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong Region Christopher Hui praised the financial sector initiatives applied at Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA).

This came during Hui’s and his accompanying delegation meeting on Wednesday with CEO of QFMA Dr. Tamy bin Ahmad Al Binali.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations, particularly in economics and finance as well as exchanged opinions, expertise and experiences on the latest developments in financial services between Qatar and Hong Kong.

Hui expressed his aspiration to enhance and strengthen bilateral cooperation with QFMA, whether bilaterally or through the two countries’ membership in international authorities and organizations working in supervision and regulation over financial markets, or in the field of the financial sector.

For his part, Al Binali praised the existing joint cooperation between Qatar and Hong Kong, especially in the economic and financial field as well as affirmed that he looks forward to strengthening the economic and financial cooperation relations between the two parties and advancing them to develop ranks that meets the level of common ambitions.

He furthermore stressed the necessity of continuing joint work aimed at developing the capital markets in Qatar and Hong Kong and establishing a safe and stable investment climate that provides sufficient privileges and incentives to attract investors, ensuring the protection of their dealings and the provision of the best financial services.
