The final of the first edition of the “Sans taboo” public speaking competition on the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) of adolescents and young people took place on Saturday May 13, 2023 in Bobo-Dioulasso. The municipal high school Vinama Thiemounou Djibril wins against the private high school Maranatha.

Launched on Saturday April 8, 2023 in Bobo-Dioulasso, the first edition of the public speaking competition “Sans tabou”, inter-establishment competition of the city of Bobo-Dioulasso dedicated to the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) of adolescents and young people , had its epilogue this Saturday, May 13, 2023.

The final pitted the municipal Lycée Vinama Thiemounou Djibril against the private Lycée Maranatha on the theme: “The smartphone, the main cause of moral depravity in Burkina Faso. For or against? “.

After about 25 minutes of “heated” exchanges, it was the Vinama Thiemounou Djibril Municipal High School who convinced the jury. The president of the jury, Zakaria Zagré, was pleased with the level of the debates.

“Both schools deserved to win but a choice had to be made,” he said.

The Lycée Sainte Marie de Tounouma was ranked third by winning its debate against the Lycée de Banfora, on the theme: “The condom, the only way to fight against unwanted pregnancies”.

The municipal Lycée Vinama Thiemounou Djibril gets away with the sum of 30,000 F CFA and the private Lycée Maranatha with 20,000 F CFA.

The best speakers were awarded.

The promoter of the “Sans taboo” competition, Franc Kagoné, said he was satisfied with the organization of this first edition.

“The bet was won in view of the enthusiasm and mobilization of the students,” he said.

Listening to him, the “Sans taboo” competition aims to create a platform for exchanges where adolescents and young people can learn about public speaking and above all have the right information on sexual and reproductive health in order to to act as intermediaries with the majority.
