BETHLEHEM- Ma’an- The US State Department spokesman said that the US administration is deeply concerned about maintaining stability in the West Bank.
He added: We recognize Israel’s real security needs, which include combating “terrorist activity” in the West Bank, as he put it, adding: “At the same time, we continue to insist that the Israeli authorities take the necessary measures to protect all civilians from harm in the West Bank – just as we urge them to do in Gaza.”
These statements came in response to Ma’an’s questions about the US administration’s comment and position on the expanded Israeli military operation in the West Bank, the Israeli forces’ siege of hospitals, its announcement of plans to raid hospitals, and its issuance of orders to residents of Tulkarm to evacuate, and why the US administration does not intervene in the Israeli raids on the West Bank, especially since they are destroying the two-state solution?
