IOF Arrests 16 Palestinians in West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested at least 16 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, during the past 24 hours, including a journalist, an underage girl, and several freed captives.

In a joint statement, Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said that the arrests took place across the governorates of Ramallah, Al-Khalil, Nablus, Ariha, and Occupied Jerusalem (Al-Quds), and were accompanied by attacks and threats against the detainees and their families, in addition to widespread acts of vandalism and destruction in citizens’ homes.

Since the Israeli occupation announced its last military campaign, the number of arrests in the West Bank has risen to about 195 arrests, the statement said, adding that these cases are confirmed by institutions, in light of the continuation of the military operation in Jenin. This number is only a speculation as the actual number of arrests in the governorate is unknown, but it is certain that the IOF
has arrested dozens of Palestinian civilians (including children, underage students, freed captives and Palestinian civilians in general).

The IOF has arrested more than 10,400 Palestinian civilians across the governorates of the West Bank (including Al-Quds), since the beginning of the Israeli occupation’s ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Gaza Strip.

The IOF continues to implement systematic arrests, as one of its most prominent established policies, which escalated in an unprecedented manner after October 2023, not only in terms of the number of detainees, but also in terms of the level of crimes committed.
