Iraq Records 3 Earthquakes without Material, Human Losses

The Iraqi General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring reported that three earthquakes occurred at dawn Monday in the governorates of Duhok and Kirkuk in northern Iraq, without causing material or human losses.



A statement by the Iraqi General Authority explained that the first earthquake occurred northeast of the Tuz Khurmatu district in Kirkuk Governorate and had a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale.



The statement added that the second and third earthquakes occurred in Duhok Governorate and were of a magnitude of 4.6 and 3.1 degrees respectively, The quakes were felt by residents in varying ways, but did not cause material or human losses.



The authority called on people to be cautious and adhere to the warnings issued by the Iraqi General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring.
