Iraqi Foreign Ministry Official Spokesman to QNA: HH the Amir’s Visit Will Boost Qatari-Iraqi Relations in All Domains

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry Official Spokesman Dr. Ahmed Al-Sahaf said that the official visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Iraq on Thursday would give relations between the State of Qatar and Iraq a qualitative boost in all domains.

Al-Sahaf said, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that Iraq gives great attention in HH the Amir’s visit, which will be reflected in the level of cooperation and joint coordination between the two countries at all levels, stressing the depth and strength of the well-established fraternal historic relations that unite the two countries.

The Spokesman praised the high-level coordination between the two countries in many topics and in everything related to common interests and the development and strengthening of cooperation in the areas of development, economy, investment and other fields that push relations between the two countries to broader horizons.

He stressed that Iraq’s foreign policy focuses on strengthening partnership with the State of Qatar, the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and all Iraq’s partners around the world, noting that the visit of HH the Amir will constitute a strong impetus for the strategic relations between the two countries, especially in light of the existing strategic projects put forward by the Iraqi government, which is working on implementing them to develop the financial, business and investment sectors.

Concluding his remarks to QNA, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry Official Spokesman stated that Iraq looks to moving forward in strengthening investment cooperation with the State of Qatar in light of the deep-rooted historic relations between them, in a way that achieves the aspirations of the leaderships of the two countries and the common interests of the two peoples.
