Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid underlined the importance of consolidating the economic stability of Iraq in accordance with a comprehensive vision, stressing the urgent need to develop the financial system to keep pace with the current changes.

During a meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq Ali Mohsen Al Alaq, the President highlighted the importance of developing the banking sector by taking advantage of the latest technical data, supporting developmental and investment projects, following up the work of private banks and exchange companies, and combating money laundering in a way that protects the national economy and citizens’ property.

The two sides also discussed the economic and financial situation in Iraq, the monetary policy adopted by the Central Bank, and its efforts to improve the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar. (QNA)
