Ramallah – Ma’an – The Water Authority announced that the Israeli company Mekorot has reduced the quantities of water that were pumped to the concession areas of the Ramallah and Jerusalem Water Authority by more than 50%.

The Water Authority confirmed that the reduction led to the interruption of water to many communities within the city of Ramallah, which is likely to reach other communities in light of the Israeli company Mekorot continuing its reduction policy.

The Water Authority also explained that it is working to follow up on the issue of reducing water quantities that included the central and southern areas of the West Bank with Mekorot Company, and called on it to return pumping the allocated quantities in full so that the water crisis does not worsen, especially in light of the high temperatures.

Yesterday, the Water Authority announced that the Israeli company Mekorot had reduced the amounts of water pumped to the areas of Bethlehem and Hebron by 35%.
