Rabat – The Jardin Majorelle and the Fondation Jardin Majorelle are delighted to celebrate the garden’s 100th anniversary this year, which will be marked with festivities and cultural events to be enjoyed by national and international visitors alike.

This exotic oasis has been steeped in history since 1924, when the French painter Jacques Majorelle acquired land located on the edge of the Palmeraie of Marrakech, where he built a villa and laid out a garden. Ever since it was opened to the public by its creator, the Jardin Majorelle has become an iconic symbol of the Ocher City.

Visiting the Jardin Majorelle is a one-of-a-kind experience, in which history, nature and culture are brought together in one magnificent verdant setting, the same source notes, recalling that in 198
0, the late Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent acquired this legendary garden, which quickly became one of the most visited tourist sites in Morocco.

“The luxuriant garden is home to two emblematic museums: the Pierre Bergé Museum of Berber Arts and the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech. These multifaceted cultural centers add an artistic dimension to this oasis, offering an immersive journey for those who love both nature and the creative world of the great couturier’, the press release adds.

Throughout 2024, the centennial celebration at the Jardin Majorelle will include exhibitions, special events, conferences, concerts and film screenings.
