Jordanian Foreign Ministry denounces Israeli government decisions dedicated to Palestinian territories occupation

General

Jordanian Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs denounced ‘the Israeli government’s decisions and measures that perpetuate the occupation of Palestinian lands through the expansion and legitimization of settlement construction, the latest of which was the approval of a plan to expand a new settlement outpost on lands near Bethlehem, Al-Walaja, and Husan, which are included on the UNESCO List of World Heritage in Danger, in blatant defiance and grave violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, most notably Security Council Resolution No. 2334, and the relevant agreements for the protection of cultural property and cultural heritage.’

The Ministry’s official spokesman, Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah, affirmed ‘the Kingdom’s absolute rejection and denunciation of such systematic Israeli measures that violate all rules of international law and Council resolutions.’

Ambassador Al-Qudah stressed “the need for Israel, the occupying power, to comply with its responsibilities in accorda
nce with international law, and to stop its settlement plans that aim to seize Palestinian lands and property.”

He also renewed his call on the international community to ‘take immediate and effective action to stop the unilateral, illegal and illegitimate Israeli measures,’ stressing that ‘such measures, which coincide with the raging aggressive war launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip, push towards further deterioration and escalation, for which Israel bears complete responsibility.”
