Morocco Earthquake Death and Injury Toll Rise to 2,862 and 2,562

The death toll from the devastating earthquake that struck several Moroccan regions on Friday rose to 2862 dead and 2,562 injured, according to the Moroccan Ministry of Interior.



The Ministry’s statement indicated that local authorities are continuing their efforts to rescue and evacuate the injured, as well as opening the roads damaged by the earthquake, stressing the mobilization of all necessary capabilities in response to this painful tragedy.



A devastating earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale struck Morocco on Friday, claiming the lives of hundreds and destroying buildings and properties in a number of villages and cities, forcing residents of major cities to flee their homes.
