President of KFA to QNA: Preparations for Gulf 26 in Progress

Doha: President of Kuwait Football Association (KFA) Abdullah Ahmad Al Shaheen affirmed that the preparations to host the Arabian Gulf Cup (Gulf 26), which will be held from Dec. 21, 2024 until Jan. 3, 2025, are proceeding regularly in light of the unification of all efforts under the leadership of Kuwaiti Minister of State for Youth Affairs Dr. Amthal Al Huwailah, in addition to the permanent and fruitful cooperation and coordination between the Sports Authority and KFA.

In an interview with Qatar News Agency , President of KFA said that everyone in Kuwait is seeking to accomplish all organizational matters, in light of the unlimited support of HH Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Gulf 26 tournament will represent a new starting point for Kuwaiti sports, which has overcome many difficulties in the past to witness stability at all levels, which paves the way to optimism towards a prosperous future, Al Shaheen added.

In regard to the progress overgone by stadiums that wil
l host this significant event, President of KFA revealed that after approving Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium and Al Salibikhaet Stadium to host Gulf 26, the work in progress has not stopped, especially in Al Salibikhaet Stadium, to address some technical observations within a specific time frame agreed upon with the Gulf Union delegation, which visited the state of Kuwait on various occasions.

He pointed out that constant communication has been taking place between KFA and the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation under the presidency of HE Minister of Sports and Youth and President of the Gulf Federation Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, regarding many matters related to hosting the tournament.

Al Shaheen commended the close relations between KFA and its Qatari counterpart, adding that many points of view and opinions are heard on various topics related to football, as well as constructive cooperation at all levels, whether through exchanging experiences or seeking help from referees of bot
h sides.
