Qatar Committee for Alliance of Civilizations Releases 2nd Issue of Alliance of Civilizations Magazine

Qatar Committee for the Alliance of Civilizations released the second issue of its specialized and peer-reviewed scientific journal, Alliance of Civilizations magazine.

The issue starts with an editorial by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vice-Chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Alliance of Civilizations, Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, that presented the magazine’s most important goals of publishing serious research and studies aimed at analyzing and researching issues related to the contents and applications of the Alliance of Civilizations, introducing pioneering experiences in this field, providing a platform for communication with those interested in the issues of civilizational dialogue, and spreading scientific culture among researchers from different countries of the world.

The issue included the publication of six research papers in the Arabic section of the magazine. The first research dealt with ‘civilizations in a changing world…the State of Qatar and India as a model’ by the University of Baghdad’s Professor of Contemporary History Prof. Mufid Al Zaidi, while the second research was about the ‘roles of civil society in promoting civilized dialogue: a study of foundations, models and practice’ by Professor Dr. Azzeddine Mamiche, from Qatar University. The third research, ‘the values of civilization interaction under the new trends of the global system’ by Professor Munjid Al Khashali, while the fourth research dealt with the topic of “United Nations alliance of civilizations and peacebuilding” by legal expert at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Hanan Malaeb. The fifth research by Khudhair Abbas Al Nadawi from Al Farabi University touched on ‘the role of the phenomenon of international migration in the building of the American civilization’, and the sixth research came under the title ‘civilizational acquaintance in the Islamic heritage between endoscopy and practice’.

The magazine’s English section included two papers – the first dealt with “the role of migration in the dialogue between civilizations and the rejection of hatred and extremism” by Professor Hamied Al Hashimi from the International College of Islamic Science in London, and the second research came under the title “the alliance of civilizations and the protection of human rights” by Sri Lanka’s former permanent representative to the United Nations at the United Nations in Geneva Ambassador Aliyar Abdul Azeez.

The issue also included a report on the 14th Doha Conference For Interfaith Dialogue, which was organized by the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue in May.
