Under the title “Hajj: Religious Rites and Spiritual Dimensions,” Al-Raya daily newspaper’s editorial emphasized that Hajj is an important religious and spiritual obligation in Muslims’ lives, influencing individuals spiritually and religiously, strengthening faith, and emulating the Prophet Muhammad’s teachings.

The newspaper added: Hajj enhances social relations and unity among Muslims, inspiring qualities of resilience, patience, and humility, which are essential traits that Muslims should apply in their daily lives. Hajj provides a structured spiritual environment to refine and develop one’s spiritual dimension and improve their religious and social state.

The newspaper noted that the obligation of Hajj for Muslims encompasses unique spiritual and social dimensions. God has mandated Hajj for every adult, sane Muslim capable of performing this pure ritual; it is a spiritual journey, a prophetic tradition, a divine ordinance, and an enlightening worship that unites all Muslims who exert effort in performi
ng it, agreeing on its pillars, rejoicing in its obligations, illuminating their path, purifying their hearts, and forgiving their sins.

It concluded: The ultimate purpose of Hajj is to draw believers closer to God. When a Muslim embarks on this obligation, they leave behind worldly distractions to dedicate themselves to God, returning home purified and renewed in their resolve to obey God and serve humanity.

On Qatari aid to distressed or crisis-stricken countries due to wars, Al-Arab daily newspaper’s editorial titled “Qatar’s Constant Response to Humanitarian Crises” reviewed Qatar’s commitment to continuing humanitarian support and contributing to international efforts to alleviate human suffering and other challenges facing humanity. This includes supporting the UNHCR’s efforts to implement its humanitarian programs and activities worldwide, enhancing its capacity to respond to the increasing humanitarian needs caused by waves of refugees and forced displacement, and providing direct aid to the most ne
edy countries without discrimination based on cultural, religious, or racial considerations, stemming from its belief in humanitarian responsibility, international solidarity, and burden-sharing.

The newspaper noted: In this context, a Qatari plane carrying aid for the Sudanese people arrived in Port Sudan, provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, as part of Qatar’s support for the Sudanese people’s resilience in facing the difficult circumstances due to ongoing conflict.

It added: The second and third batches of Qatari aid for drought-affected people in Namibia, carrying 41 tons of aid provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, also arrived, supporting Namibia and its people in coping with the drought.

The editorial concluded: This series of Qatari external aid underscores the country’s foreign policy principle of cooperation and partnership in facing common challenges, and highlights the effectiveness of Qatar’s efforts in responding to humanitarian crises and disasters.

For its part, English daily
newspaper, The Peninsula, shed light on the Eid Al-Adha celebrations in the Arab and Islamic worlds, noting that about two million pilgrims stood yesterday on Mount Arafat, supplicating to All Mighty Allah for forgiveness, peace and prosperity.

During their time at the sacred site of Arafat, pilgrims take advantage of the great virtue of pilgrimage, reminding every Muslim to safeguard the five Islamic necessities: faith, life, intellect, property, and lineage, the newspaper said.

Eid is a joyous occasion where Muslims exchange greetings and blessings, pray for each other, and connect with relatives, friends, and acquaintances, it added.

It noted that while Eid is a time of joy and celebration, not every Muslim around the world can fully partake in the festivities. The ongoing suffering of Palestinians in the occupied territories casts a shadow over the celebrations, as many of them are deprived from basic necessities such as food, medicine, and shelter, living as homeless people outside their destroyed hom
es.
