QBSF President: Doha has Become a Destination for Hosting Largest International Tournaments

Doha, November 07 – The Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation (QBSF) President Mohamed Al Ramzani, considered that Doha has become a destination for hosting the largest global and continental billiards and snooker championships annually, pointing out that Dohas current hosting of nine world championships in a row is the greatest evidence of the Qatari reputation for hosting the most prominent sporting events.

In a special statement to Qatar News Agency Al Ramzani said that the State of Qatar always amazes everyone by organizing the most prominent sporting events in the world and in various games, especially in light of the capabilities and human cadres it possesses that are always able to achieve success, this is currently appearing in the World Snooker Championship, the first of nine global tournaments hosted by the federation over a period of three weeks.

Al Ramzani added that the federation provided all the preparations for the success of the nine world championships in snooker and English billiards through its constant work with the International and Asian Federations to develop the game, which helps it organize various tournaments and produce them in the best possible way, whether on the organizational or technical level.

QBSF President stressed that Qatar plays a major role in the continuity and development of the sport of billiards and snooker at the international level, pointing out that the game has developed greatly in the State of Qatar, and that the players of the Qatari national team performed well during the World Championship competitions, with the trio Ali Al Obaidli, Ahmed Saif and Bashar Hussein qualifying to the round of 32.

Al Ramzani thanked the Ministry of Sports and Youth for its support to the Federation in all the international tournaments it organizes every season in Doha, considering it to be the main factor in the successes achieved by the Federation during the recent period, especially hosting nine world championships in snooker and English billiards in a row.
