QDB Updates List of Unattractive Industries

General

Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has updated the list of industrial products and services that are deemed less attractive for financing, with the aim of guiding Qatari entrepreneurs to avoid projects that may negatively affect their business and lead to future challenges.

The list, which was made available electronically through the bank’s website, is in line with efforts to deliver market-related information and data to small and medium-sized companies, help them find entrepreneurial opportunities, and provide all that is new and keep pace with industrial developments, as well as defining investment plans for these companies.

It is compiled based on a variety of indicators, such as low demand for listed industries and services, high manufacturing costs, the lack of necessary raw materials, among other factors that may indicate the inefficacy of financing a product or launching a project during a given period.

The list is subject to amendments and updates based on emerging trends and developments in industrial fields and commercial projects as well as its alignment with the needs of the Qatari and global markets.

The new version includes a new section with a number of service activities, along with minor modifications in the industrial fields of the previous one.
