Russia Downs Ukrainian Drones Targeting Moscow

– Russian authorities announced the downing of Ukrainian drones targeting the capital, Moscow.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said Russian air defenses repelled a Ukrainian attack and shot down several drones flying toward the capital.

Sobyanin said on Telegram that the air defense forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the urban district of Lyubertsy repelled an attack by a drone flying to Moscow, before later announcing the destruction of two more drones in the Ramensky district and four more as they approached Moscow in the Podolsk region.

There were no reports of damage or injuries at the site where the drones’ debris fell.

On Monday, Bryansk Oblast Governor Alexander Bogomaz announced the destruction of three Ukrainian drones over the region.

On September 1, Ukraine launched a large-scale drone attack on the Russian capital, Moscow, with debris from one of the downed drones destroying a separate technical room in the Moscow oil refinery.
