Russian forces advance in Lugansk, destroy dozens of tanks, armoured vehicles

Russian forces advanced in Lugansk People’s Republic, destroying more than 190 Ukrainian servicemen, 22 enemy tanks, 10 infantry fighting vehicles and 13 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles.

Russian forces advanced 3 km along the frontline and 2.7 km into the depth of the Ukrainian army’s defense in the Krasny Liman area over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian losses were over 190 servicemen, five armoured fighting vehicles, four pickup trucks, two howitzers: D-20 and D-30, three Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, and one U.S.-manufactured AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station.

Russian air defense forces intercepted seven rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system and two Storm Shadow cruise missiles, the spokesman said.

Russian forces repelled four Ukrainian attacks in the Krasny Liman area over the past day, in addition, Russian air defense systems destroyed 13 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in areas near the settlements of Karmazinovka, Zolotaryovka and Rubezhnoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Verkhnekamenskoye, Yevgenovka, Yampolovka and Krasnaya Polyana in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Chumatskoye and Dibrova in the Zaporozhye Region, the general reported.
