S. Korean President Warns N. Korea of Its Missile Provocations Consequences

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol warned Pyongyang on Thursday of the consequences of its provocations shortly after North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the East Sea.

Yoon made the remarks at an emergency meeting of the National Security Council in South Korea, and before he went to Japan for a bilateral summit with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

The South Korean president affirmed that “North Korea will have to pay the price for reckless provocations.” He called for a strengthening of trilateral security cooperation among South Korea, Japan, and the US.

According to the presidential office, Yoon ordered the military to conduct joint exercises with the US in a comprehensive manner to maintain a state of readiness against North Korea.
