Manama, March 12 (QNA) – The Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP) of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held a meeting today, as part of the 146th Assembly of the IPU which is being held in Bahrain, with the participation of HE Secretary-General of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Fadala.

The meeting discussed several issues related to the work of the general secretariat in parliaments and legislative assemblies, and presented the practices of a number of countries on improving administrative processes in parliamentary work and the role of parliaments in amending constitutions.

The meeting also dealt with the issue of citizens’ participation in the work of parliament, and the participants reviewed different models and experiences from their countries in this aspect.
