Snapchat Launches New AI Selfie Feature Called Dreams

General

Snapchat has now launched a new tool that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to completely reimagine users’ photographs.

According to an official statement by Snapchat, a new Gen AI-powered feature called Dreams is launched where Snapchatters can create fantastical images that let them try on new identitiesbe it a mermaid in a deep-seascape, or a renaissance era royal.

To get started, head to Memories, where there is a new tab for Dreams. With a few selfies, you can create a personalized Generative AI model and start checking out your Dreams.

The first bundle is complimentary, and users can make more with an in-app purchase for USD 1.

With this new feature, Snapchat is giving its users access to a concept that many AI photo apps on the App Store already offer. One of these apps is called Lensa, which generates “magic avatars”, and Remini, which creates professional-looking headshots without having to pay for a pro photo shoot.

Its first available starting slowly in Australia and New Zealand and coming to Snapchatters globally over the next few weeks.

This new feature is in addition to other AI features within the Snapchat app, including the “My AI” personal assistant.
