Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammad Al Ansari participated today in the opening of a research symposium on the Eurasia region after the war in Ukraine, which was organized by the Center for International Policy Research in Qatar and the Center of Analysis of International Relations in Azerbaijan.

In a speech during the symposium, Dr. Al Ansari said that the State of Qatar has urged all parties since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis to exercise restraint, and called for resolving the conflict through constructive dialogue and diplomatic channels.

He noted Qatar’s participation in the international conference of solidarity with the Ukrainian People, organized by France in partnership with Ukraine in Paris with the aim of meeting the urgent needs of the Ukrainian people and providing them with immediate assistance.

In addition, the State of Qatar welcomed Ukraine’s initiative to launch the humanitarian program “Grains from Ukraine” and its targeted projects which would enhance food security and find sustainable solutions.

The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the State of Qatar has always been at the forefront of countries that responded to global crises, including the food security crisis. He renewed Qatar’s firm commitment as a reliable international partner in support of collective initiatives and international multilateral action, noting that Qatar welcomed the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

What the world is facing today, he said, confirms the urgent need for continuous support for people who suffer from food insecurity, and who depend mainly on grains, especially in Africa and Asia.

In another context, the Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that Qatar and Azerbaijan have developed their political, economic and security relations, saying that high-level visits, political consultation meetings, cooperation agreements and investment talks are all evidence of moving forward on the positive path of bilateral relations.

The State of Qatar, he noted, seeks to develop its political and economic relations with the countries of Central Asia, with the aim of strengthening its international relations, adding the political consultation meetings, mutual visits and bilateral agreements are evidence of the development of institutional relations that pave the way for stronger relations.

He stressed that the State of Qatar plays an active role in the field of humanitarian diplomacy through its work in development and aid projects in Central Asia, which are implemented by the Qatar Fund for Development and charities such as the Qatar Red Crescent and Qatar Charity.
