Sports Institutions, Federations Celebrate Ramadan with Tournaments in Different Games

Within the framework of their social activities in the country, Many sports institutions are keen to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan by organizing and holding events and sports tournaments in a number of sports for both men and women.

Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF) comes at the forefront of the federations that continue their activities during the holy month, as the second edition of the Qatar Junior Tennis Federation Open Championship was launched on the courts of the Khalifa International Complex on the fourth day of Ramadan, with the participation of more than 150 players, and it will last for a week.

The 2nd Khalifa Squash Complex Open tournament started at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex and is set to conclude on April 6, the competitions categories based on gender and age: including girls U-15 and boys under 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19 years old, in addition to the men’s and the women’s categories.

The Federation is also organizing the third edition of the Khalifa Bin Tawar Al Kuwari Padel Championship for men, which will be held at the Sheraton Doha Hotel stadiums from the 18th to the 24th of the holy month.

QTSBF Executive Director and the Tournament’s Director Saad Al Mohannadi said in a statement to QNA that these three championships are of great importance because they are held in the holy month of Ramadan, as the federation is keen on the need to ensure the continuity of sports activity for the players of the national teams during the holy month, as well as to provide the opportunity for fans of the game of all ages and groups to participate in it, in a way that establishes the value of sport in society and enhances the popularity of the game.

Al Wajbah championship, in its twenty-first edition, launched. This year, the championship is witnessing the participation of ten teams divided into two groups.

The Saleh Saqr football tournament, which is one of the oldest courses in the Arab and Gulf countries, returned, in its forty-sixth year, after it stopped for three years during the Corona pandemic.

The Qatar Table Tennis Association organized the competitions of the first edition of the Ramadan Ambassadors Championship at Lusail Sports Hall, with the large participation of a number of ambassadors to the State of Qatar.

In turn, the Qatar shooting & Archery association is organizing, during the blessed month of Ramadan, the “Ramadan Neshan” tournament at the Lusail Shooting Complex during the period from the tenth to the nineteenth of Ramadan.

Aspire Zone Foundation launched 10th Ramadan sports festival on Tuesday which has become an annual tradition awaited by sports fans. Aspire Zone Foundation’s objectives in organizing the Ramadan tournaments are to discover individuals talented in various games and to provide an ideal environment for playing sports within its facilities.

The Aspire Zone Foundation had revealed earlier its events schedule which includes 8 sports, where Football competitions (men) kicked off on Tuesday at Al Bayt Stadium and will continue until April 8, as well as four-a-side football competitions (men) that will continue until April 1 on 5-a-side football pitches.

The Aspire ladies’ gym, in cooperation with the Sports Lab Center, hosted a futsal football event on Tuesday, lasting until April 2, while the women’s volleyball competition held March 28 – April 2.

The festival is going to include 3X3 basketball competitions (men), on Wednesday until March 30, and a table tennis competition for people with special needs organized in cooperation with the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs, started on April 1.

In turn, the Qatar women’s sport committee currently organizing a number of activities to provide an opportunity for women to enjoy activity and vitality during the days of the holy month.

The 11th edition of the Ramadan Press Futsal Championship kicked off, in the Al Arabi Club hall, with the participation of eight major media organizations, the tournament has been held since its inception under the umbrella of the Qatar Football Association and the Sports Media Committee of the Qatar Olympic Committee, with the annual support and sponsorship of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
