Syrian-Jordanian Economic Forum discusses trade exchange and inter-transport logistics


Activities of the Jordanian-Syrian Economic Forum were launched on Monday at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus under the title “trade exchange and transport logistics between Syria and Jordan.”



The event is accompanied by an exhibition introducing the activities of Jordanian shipping and transport companies, and Aqaba Chamber of Commerce, Irbid Chamber of Industry and the Investment Directorate in Aqaba Port.



Participants in the forum, including representatives of the chambers of industry, commerce and economic activities, discussed means of overcoming difficulties and obstacles in front of trade and commercial exchange, export of Syrian and Jordanian products and providing facilities for their flow of goods, customs’ exemptions, and activating joint action to facilitate the passage of goods, whether transit or intra-trade, especially for the private sector that has the willing to increase trade exchange and develop the work of border crossings.



The participants also discussed ways of raising bilateral economic relations to a better level, improving and activating the work of joint committees and supporting local industries for both sides in addition to providing each of them with a list of goods permitted to be imported and exported, forming a Syrian-Jordanian Business council and building economic partnership at the national level.
