UNRWA closes its headquarters in Occupied Jerusalem after Israeli settlers attacked it

United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) announced the temporary closure of the Agency’s headquarters in occupied Jerusalem after an arson attack by Israeli settlers.

‘Israeli settlers set fire twice to the perimeter of the UNRWA headquarters’ on Thursday evening, UNRWA personnel and staff from other UN agencies were inside the compound at the time, Agency France-Press quoted the Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, as saying on the X platform.

Lazzarini added’ crowd accompanied by armed Israeli colonists were witnessed outside the compound chanting burn down the United Nations, so a decision was made to close the compound until security was restored’.
