he Standard and Poor’s 500 index ended trading down 37.73 points, or 0.72 percent, to reach 5,206.04 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 156.38 points, or 0.95 percent, recording 16,240.45 points at the close of trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also fell by 387.81 points, or one percent, to end trading at 39,171.55 points.
