Kevin joined GlobalFoundries in 2011, where he supported the ramp-up of its semiconductor wafer manufacturing facility in Malta, NY. He currently serves as the company’s Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for long-range planning, integrated strategy and corporate development.

The State of Qatar obtained a certification from Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA), during the CCRA’s first conference for 2023 in Malaysia.

Qatar is the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to issue these internationally be recognized from the specialized committee by the members of the Global Common Standards Agreement.

This achievement comes following the audit of the Qatar common criteria program of the National Cybersecurity Agency by the certification body of India and Malaysia, where it was approved by the team of auditors that the Qatar Common Criteria Program meets all the conditions stipulated in the agreement, and the report was submitted to the chairman of the accreditation committee of the CCRA.

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has been recognized as the “Best Islamic Bank in Qatar” by Islamic Finance News (IFN), the worlds leading Islamic finance publication and news provider.

The Bank has also received two distinguished recognitions, as “Most Innovative Bank in Qatar” and “Best Retail Bank in Qatar” during the IFN award ceremony held in Dubai.

QIB achieved the recognition through record number of readers votes at the 18th annual edition of IFNs Best Banks Poll; the unique barometer for Islamic banking performance in 35 countries and one of the most prestigious accolades in the world of Islamic finance.

Over 38,000 votes were cast by IFN readers this year, making the IFN Best Banks Poll 2022 the largest poll in its 18-year history.

The latest edition introduced five new categories to better illustrate the vibrant Islamic banking landscape in each domestic market.

HE President of the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit met with HE Director General of National Statistics and Demography of the Republic of Senegal Aboubacar Sedikh Beye and the accompanying delegation, who are visiting the country.

This meeting comes as a part of a three-day visit by a delegation from the Republic of Senegal to the PSA, to see aspects of the authority’s work in the fields of statistics and field surveys.

The meeting addressed several topics of mutual interest.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the State of Qatar’s experience in implementing the General Census of Population, Housing and Establishment 2020 project, which is based on administrative records, and is considered an approach that developed countries seek to implement to move from traditional censuses based on field surveys to a census based on administrative records.

In the same context, the authority reviewed the latest methods and techniques used in the implementation of the last census, and the electronic transformation in the implementation of some household surveys instead of field surveys.

During the visit, the delegation also gets acquainted with the geographic information system (GIS) and its significant role at the present time in the implementation of field surveys, in addition to learning about the great developments in economic statistics in the field of national accounts, foreign trade and other economic statistics.

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held today an official talks session with HE President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow.

At the outset of the session, HH the Amir welcomed HE the President and the accompanying delegation, wishing him a good stay and for bilateral relations further progress and growth in all fields.

For his part, HE the President of Turkmenistan expressed his thanks and appreciation for HH the Amir for the good welcome and reception, expressing his hope that the visit can enhance bilateral cooperation to broader horizons.

The talks session dealt with discussing bilateral relations and the means to enhance them in all fields, particularly education, economy, investment, commerce, energy, sports, and social affairs, in addition to exchanging views on the most prominent regional and international issues.

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) on Monday declared a state of emergency as an oil leakage occurred in a location west of Kuwait.

In a statement reported by Kuwait News Agency, Deputy CEO for Administrative Affairs and official spokesman of the KOC Qusai Al Amer said no injuries have occurred as a result of the leak and production has not been affected. No poisonous gas leakage was detected at the site of the incident, he affirmed.

KOC teams are currently handling the situation, taking the necessary procedure to contain the situation, added Al Amer.
